The Farm:
In the heart of the Banko Chelchele kebele, nestled within the Gedeb woreda, south of Yirgacheffe and just west of the vast Oromia region, lies Tariku Mengesha's farm. Tariku, the sole owner and dedicated producer, has poured his heart and soul into cultivating this remarkable natural coffee.
Collaborating with Tesfaye Roba, Tariku processes his coffee using the traditional Natural method. This artisanal process begins with a careful soaking of the cherries to remove any imperfections - immature cherries, floaters, overripe fruits, and foreign matter. The cherries are then tenderly dried on raised beds for an impressive 28 days. Coffee serves as Tariku's primary source of income and plays a vital role in supporting his family of 10 children.
